One of the easiest ways to strengthen copy is to show prospects what an unsolved problem is already costing them. The loss may be real, but until you make it visible, it often feels harmless.
Here are seven ways to do that:
1. THE HIDDEN TIME COST
Don’t say, “Bookkeeping wastes time.”
Show where the time disappears: ten minutes entering invoices, fifteen reconciling payments, twenty chasing receipts.
By Friday, three hours are gone.
2. THE COST OF THE LEAK
A restaurant wasting $18 of ingredients a day may not sound serious.
Over a year, that becomes roughly $6,500.
Small leaks become persuasive when you show the total.
3. THE PRICE OF DOING NOTHING
An old HVAC system may still work.
But if it burns an extra $70 of electricity each month, keeping it carries an $840 annual price.
4. THE BEFORE-AND-AFTER PROOF
A recruiter takes 12 minutes to screen an application manually. New software cuts that to four.
Across 100 applications, that saves more than 13 hours.
Use reasonable math, not fake precision.
5. THE COST OF KEEPING THE OLD WAY
Legacy software may require patches, workarounds, duplicate entry, and extra training. The expense is maintaining the workaround.
6. THE COST OF REPETITION
Eight minutes updating systems after one sales call seems trivial. Six calls a day turns that into roughly four hours every week.
7. THE CHAIN-REACTION COST
A slow approval process doesn’t merely delay approval. It delays purchasing, production, shipping, invoicing, and payment.
Good copy makes those hidden losses visible before asking the prospect to solve them.
