“Unplugging” from the digital world is easy enough. The harder part is pulling the curtain on the habits of mind it leaves behind.
You can put the phone away and still spend the afternoon measuring your progress, comparing yourself to other people, optimizing your routine, and looking for ways to turn every experience into something productive.
So regularly do things that:
…cannot be measured
…cannot be monetized
…cannot be improved by feedback loops
Read something with no plan to extract content from it. Notice a ridiculous shade of purple and leave it at that.
Not every experience needs to become data, output, leverage, or improvement.
Some things should remain gloriously unoptimized.
That helps preserve cognitive sovereignty.
